While we were in Arkansas over the weekend, we made a special trip out to the country to visit family property, otherwise known as The Farm.

We built Sawyer a learning tower so that he can get up to the counter
in the kitchen. He likes to use it to turn the kitchen light on and off.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Spinach

We haven't been able to get Sawyer to eat anything green other than
guacamole for a couple of weeks. We heard about making smoothies with
spinach and we gave it a try. The smoothie had blueberries,
strawberries, yogurt, pineapple and spinach. Sawyer approves.

Mo' puppies pease

We ate hush puppies for dinner tonight. Sawyer loved them. He ate at
least 6. He kept saying "mo puppies pease" after they were gone.

Snow Days Continued

Sawyer's school (and DISD) were closed for an unprecedented number of days. Sawyer went to go stay with his grandma and papa (since grandma's school was closed too). The one day visited turned into two nights and two days. He called a few times to say hi. They made snow balls and played with icicles aka "ikles." We braved the weather to go get him today after work and it took 2 hours! The snow was definitely worse in North Oak Cliff than in Flower Mound. We got at least 5 inches! It's beautiful but not very helpful! It's hard to believe that just last week we were drinking margaritas with friends on a patio!

Snow day 2 called for drastic measures. We temporarily broke our "no
tv until Sawyer is 3" rule.

Right now big bird is teaching him how to count.

Gaylord ICE

We think Sawyer had a good time at the Gaylord ICE exhibit. It's hard to say though since he didn't move once. We had to wear heavy duty jackets in the exhibit that he hated, and therefore refused to move... even when he was going down the ice slide. The crew working the exhibit had to go up the slide to bring him down. We thought it was pretty amazing though!

Dallas World Aquarium

Fish are sort of confusing for Sawyer. When he seems them in real life they're above his head and moving in the air so he calls them birds. When he sees them in books he calls them the name for a female dog. The first picture is super blurry, I just think it's funny that he has no clue there is a shark swimming past his head.

Sawyers first gingerbread house

We had parents night out tonight. Sawyer made a gingerbread house and
ate gum drops and icing and who knows what else. Clearly he had a good
time. His gingerbread house is more of a candy coated Kleenex box...
But it truly made my night. Enjoy.

I told Sawyer that he couldn't get out of bed again at nap time. So he
brought his toys to bed. Busted!

Sawyer-isms

Here are a few of my favorite new Sawyerisms:
His favorite song is the GNR version of Knockin on Heaven's Door. He likes saying "knock, knock, knock." It's super cute.
He calls Snuffy "No No Man." Since he has a big nose.
He pronounces his name "Loler."
He prefers to wear a jacket at all times. And, he likes to pop his collar.
He LOVES to brush his teeth.
He cheers for everyone when they potty now.
He has two speeds, dawdling and racing. When he races he likes to yell "go."
Apparently he needs half of a roll of toilet paper to wipe his nose. (see pictures below)
