National peace day

Sawyer planted peas at preschool yesterday for national peace day. His
day care also joined schools across the globe singing a continual song
for peace.

Sawyer is officially a Dallasite

...or is the correct term Dallasian?

Home Stretch

Last night we let Sawyer cool off with some other kids in a fountain in Fort Collins, CO. It might have been the best night of his life. Tonight we're in Amarillo - just a half day's drive to Dallas. We're excited about sleeping in our new home tomorrow night.

Road trip day three

We made it to Jackson today. Calling this town beautiful is an
understatement. We are on our way to "the big red tram" a tram that
takes you up to 4139 feet for a great view of the area and the Tetons.

Salt lake was gorgeous too! The salt flats sparkle like diamonds. We
drank some good brews at the squatters pub last night. They had veggie
reubens too. Sawyer ate all the tofu out of his and left the rest.

That's all for now.

Road trip day two

We are somewhere in Nevada. We stopped to eat lunch a little early
because the sign said next road stop 100 miles.

We got a later start this morning because we had a later night than
planned last night.

We arrived in Reno around 730. After stopping to get veggie dogs,
'kraut and two cans of oly we went to the hotel to check in. That was
when we learned that all Marriott hotels require a nonrefundable $100
fee. This made our $90 dollar a night hotel less of a bargain. So, we
ended up at circus circus.

Reno is a ghost town. The average age of guests at circus circus is
north of 70. When you pick up a hotel map you can borrow a
complimentary wheel chair. Someone puked in the hallway. That said, it
was great for 30/night and they had a cute "hound hotel" for gidget.
We could check on her on our hotel room's tv. We did. After four hours
of driving, during which she napped the whole time, she just went
straight to bed.

Sawyer is having a blast. He has told us about 500 times that gidget
is in the car. He liked the hotel and jumping on the bed.

A rest stop in the sierras on our way east
