5 Months

Sawyer and Plums

Sawyer liked plums much more the second time he tried them. This time I combined the plums with a little quinoa rice cereal to dull down the tartness. We're making all of his food but the rice cereal. He still closes his right eye after each bite. I think that's his "sour" face. It's hard to record a video and feed him but I hope you catch it. Also, if you think watching a baby eat is gross. Don't watch.

More of Month 4

Sawyer started eating bananas this month. This means he also gets to start drinking water out of sippy cups. He likes the bananas and isn't sure what to think about the sippy cup.

He has started wearing a cloth/disposable diaper hybrid. So far we're really happy with it. They're really cute!

Sawyer continues to laugh a lot... but so far we can't catch it on the video camera.

We like these pictures taken back to back. They show how expressive he is.

Sawyer peekin'.

Unfortunately Sawyer has started rolling over during the night some too.

His favorite toys these days are his feet,

mom and dad,

his gym,
his bumbo,

and teething toys.

4 Month Check Up

This weekend we had Sawyer's 4 Month Check Up. The doctor said Sawyer is "perfect." We knew this already of course. He weighs 14lbs and is 25.5 inches long. This puts him in the following percentiles:
Length = between percentile 50 and 75
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25
We're not quite sure where that height came from but the doctor did say that 10 people could measure the same baby and come up with a different length based upon how much they stretch him. He got another round of shots too. They made him pretty cranky and gave him a fever.

We took him to a birth class reunion yesterday. It was really cute. The babies were all interacting with each other. He also got to see Amy, our doula, again for the first time since the week he was born. We are attaching pictures of Sawyer's crooked mouth and an action shot of his crawling attempts. This boy wants to go somewhere!
