4 months pt. 2

4 Months

Today Sawyer is 4 months old. We're overdue on pictures and we will update soon with the latest. In the mean time here are two videos. The first is Sawyer trying to get his binky back in his mouth on his own. The second is Em busting him not sleeping.

The past few weeks have been super fun. Sawyer has laughed three times (video of that to come soon, we promise) and he is all smiles. He is sleeping without being swaddled and he is talking all the time. We couldn't have asked for a better baby!

Week 12

Sawyer spent the week in Texas visiting grandparents, meeting lots of new people - including both of his great grandmothers (pics to come) and his uncle Jeff- and drinking tex-mex infused milk. The 3-hour flights, the multiple car trips and the 100 degree heat made us nervous. But he made traveling with a baby seem unusually easy. We're really proud of him. 

Week 11

We had some good weather this week, so we took Sawyer to this cool little beach at Lake Temescal in the hills above Oakland. He was loving it. It'll be a great place to take him back to when he's old enough to swim and play in the sand. 

Sawyer also met another significant milestone: he's officially too big to fit into his newborn clothes. He's still a pretty small dude. But his first pieces of clothing seem so tiny in retrospect. It's funny to be all at once nostalgic, excited for what's to come and perfectly happy with him as he is now.  

Week 10

Sawyer had his first date this week. He went on a date with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Jonathon (aka Uncle Bird) while we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. He continues to be a happy little guy. He is more alert every day and he is starting to explore things with his mouth. Can't wait to see what he'll do next!

Week 9

This week Sawyer is 9 weeks old. At his 2 month doctor's appointment we learned that Sawyer weighs 10.8lbs and is 22" long. This puts him right below the 25th percentile in both areas. He's a little guy! This probably isn't surprising to anyone given his parents. He also had his first round of vaccines. He screamed and cried so hard! They also gave him a little bit of a fever and made him pretty fussy for the next 24 hours. Luckily, Aunt Kelly came over to distract him when he wasn't feeling so hot.

Sawyer and mom started going to Baby Bootcamp so that mom can work out and Sawyer can explore the Berkeley Marina while meeting other babies. We're liking it so much we invested in the infant attachment for our jogging stroller. Gidget likes this too as this means she gets more walks.

Finally, in less fun news (meaning less fun for mom and dad) Sawyer has learned how to grab on to his Binky and take it out of his mouth. He's working on getting it back in but he's not quite there. This means that he rips it out and cries until we put it back in. On a related note he seems to need his Binky less and less because he found out that playing with his tongue is really fun.
