Saywer meets a pinata

Yesterday was National Neighborhood Night Out. Winnetka Heights had a party and Sawyer had his first experience with a pinata. He didn't do much damage. His first few hits were pretty good... then he resorted to repeatedly tapping the pinata. I think he was trying to annoy it so much it'd eventually break. Finally, one of the bigger kids broke the pinata and Sawyer was able to grab some candy. Chris accidentally left the candy at the party but Sawyer did eat a sucker or two before we went home.

Ella's Birthday Party

This picture is from Ella's birthday party. Ella is Sawyer's good friend and travel buddy. They went to Oklahoma together and are going camping together soon. She's in the front row with pig tails. He had a blast at the party and asked to go back the rest of the weekend.

I love this picture because Sawyer decided to wear his mask on the side of his head.

Sawyer came home with this awesome piece of art work and a note saying
"today, we learned about Italian Renaissance artist Donatello an
created a bas relief sculpture.". He's really proud of it!

This morning Sawyer fell down some stairs behind out house and skimmed
his elbow. He had to get two band aids and some arnica. He was pouting
about it until he got to school and was able to show off his band aids
to his very impressed friends.

We went to broken bow for a long weekend. Good friends, sweaty kids,
some lake swimming and a lot of fun... Ella and Sawyer took advantage
